How To Configure Your Email Client

Microsoft®Outlook Express Mozilla®Thunderbird
Microsoft®Outlook

Microsoft Outlook Express

Open Microsoft Outlook Express

From the Menu go to tools|accounts

Select the account you wish to run through Spam Container and click properties and then the servers tab

The only configuration change we need to make is to append whatever is in the account name field with ':what was in your Incoming mail' without the single quotes therefore if your username was mymail it will become mymail:mail.test.com.

Replace the Incoming mail server with '127.0.0.1' without the single quotes as shown above

Should you experience timeout problems when collecting email (large volume of email will cause this) simply click Advanced

Adjust the Server Timeout value by a factor of two (if the timeout was 1 minute set it to 2 minutes if it was 4 minutes set it to 8 minutes) and click OK.

Click Apply then OK.

Configuration is now finished

Note: you may need to reboot your computer if you suffered a timeout error
